I'll be honest, I had a burnout coming into this expansion due to Lightfall's tepid experience (did everything on Neonuma & Season of Defiance, then stopped caring midway through Season of the Deep, before uninstalling in Season of the Witch), but I figured that since the game has been by my side for so long, I'd come back for one last hurrah. To my surprise, I greatly enjoyed the campaign, even while soloing it in Legendary. Maybe the seasoned Guardian in me who once maxed out triumphs each season hasn't really rusted out yet.
While I haven't made any attempts for the raid "Salvation's Edge" since I started playing The Final Shape on Friday, I, along with most of the playerbase, got to enjoy the final mission that was unlocked with the World's First completion of the raid. To say that this 12-player activity was an epic finish to the decade-long saga would still be an understatement.
This is the finale to the Light and Darkness saga that began since Destiny first launched in 2014. The additional Episodes following The Final Shape will presumably tie up loose ends before Bungie makes their next move for the franchise.
